Jenny Abegg (Seattle, WA) will meet her partner, Polly Dacus, in the North Cascades and they'll spend two weeks climbing some of the most classic routes in the range including a traverse of the Liberty Bell group. This gives Jenny the opportunity to play tour guide to the person that helped define her as a climber who created projects and goals, and to work and push herself on her own terms. She writes, “Our dream is to move quickly, over long distances, on rocky summits, as a female team sharing honesty, tears, laughs, and friendship. We aspire to do this on bigger and badder objectives; this is just the beginning." ($200)

Katherine Bill (Winthrop, WA) For most of last year the topo for Levitation 29 (5.11, III) has been sitting on Katherine's refrigerator, but as a mother of two young kids the dream has seemed increasingly remote. This grant will help light a fire and help her and her partner, Laura McCabe (another mother of two young girls) travel to the desert, train, and send this legendary route. ($250)

Ian Bolliger (Seattle, WA) and his team of ski mountaineers will travel to the Revelations Range in Alaska with their sights set on the peaks north of Mt. Mausolus. In addition to their goal of seeking first ascents/descents they've partnered with Adventurers and Scientists for Conservation and will collect snow samples and bedrock for various studies. This aligns with Ian's plan to start his PhD program in the fall. ($350)

Vanessa Burdick and Kathryn Schlaich spent the last year challenging and pushing each other on the steep routes at Smith Rock. After having started climbing with male partners, they've discovered the unique energy that comes with two strong women climbing together. We'll help them break into 5.13's, notch Vanessa's first international trip and fly the Oregon flag in the well storied crags of Ceuse, France ($400 each)

Candi Cook (Portland, OR) originally hails from Texas and started getting a taste for the outdoors in the desert. She moved to Portland and started cutting her climbing teeth with the Mazamas, eventually taking a crack at Denali two years ago. She'll be travelling to the Torres del Paine with her partners Laura Pigion and Karin Mullendorf to climb the Shark's Fin. ($500)

Shawna Cooke (Seward, AK) is done with her first year of graduate school and is needing to recharge her spirit and soul with a big trip into the mountains. Her goals of climbing Ham N' Eggs (V5.9 AI4) on the Moose's Tooth, the Japanese Couloir on Mt. Barille and the Southwest Route on Mt. Dan Beard will be a culmination of her years of climbing experience. ($350)

Ryan Cudo (Fairbanks, AK) returns for round two on Ham N' Eggs Couloir in the Ruth Gorge after having to retreat from the route last year. Ryan graduates from the University of Alaska this spring, and this will be a great way to celebrate. ($350)

Alicia Imbody (Portland, OR) Two years ago Alicia I moved to the northwest, started climbing and joined the American Alpine Club. She's setting her sights high on the Complete Exum Ridge with her partner Jonathan Skeen. This trip will be their most demanding effort yet, and will challenge their skill and be a big test for their relationship as a newly engaged couple! ($250)

Ammi Midstokke (Sandpoint, ID), a single mother, was with her seven year old daughter (who's been a constant companion on many treks and hikes around the world) on Mt. Rainier in 2012. At Manning basecamp, she asked, “When can I climb to a summit with you?" That someday is this summer as they attempt the 10,358 foot summit of South Sister hoping to share the same life changing spirit we all find in the mountains. ($250)

Emily Reinsel (Bozeman, MT) goes to Wyoming to find adventure in the Big Horn Mountains and Devil's Tower. She and her partner will attempt a new aid line on Devil's Tower and further document the Big Horn crags to finalize the new guidebook. ($200)
