The American Alpine Club

Go Climbing

Our entire heritage as a club is based on helping members go climbing. The grace period we allow for renewals harkens back to the days when members traveled by sea to and from the greater ranges. Our board meetings are structured so that we spend some time at the crag together to deepen our relationship with one another. Our library is staffed to meet your research needs as you create your next adventure. Our membership in the UIAA opens doors for you when you travel internationally and the rescue insurance you receive with your membership helps when climbs don’t go as planned.

We will continue to develop this website as a resource for you as a climber. Here are some ways we can help right now:

  • Visit the members-only section of the website to search for members in your area as potential climbing partners

  • Members may use the library for small research questions at no cost

  • Apply for a grant to support your next big trip

  • Check out the Grand Teton Climbers’ Ranch as your home base for your next visit to the Tetons

  • Review the affiliations we have with other huts, hotels, motels and campgrounds to aid you in your next climbing road trip

  • Get involved in your regional section to interact with other climbers
