The Alpine Conservation Partnership: A Progress Report

December 2007

The Alpine Conservation Partnership (ACP) has made big progress on projects in Tanzania, Peru, and Nepal. Major planning has been completed for new conservation programs on Mt. Kilimanjaro (Tanzania) and in the Ishinca Valley of Huascarán National Park (Peru), and significant strides have been made in protection of the Mera Peak region in Nepal.

Read about these developments and more in the ACP’s December progress report.

The ACP, a joint venture of the AAC and the Mountain Institute, was launched in 2006 with the goal of protecting and restoring alpine ecosystems worldwide. The partnership aims to expand on the successes of the Everest Alpine Conservation and Restoration Project, founded in 2004.
