Atkinson is AMC Cover Boy
June 2007Bill Atkninson, the 82-year-old co-chair of the AAC's New England Section, made the cover of the July-August issue of "AMC Outdoors," the main publication of the Appalachian Mountain Club. Inside was a long feature article about Atkinson's very long climbing career, which began in 1956 and hasn't stopped yet. Atkinson climbed a couple of pitches at Smith Rock in Oregon during the 2007 AAC annual meeting, and he still has a pull-up bar over his bed. Click "Read More" below to see the entire article.
