The Mountain Fellowship Program awards funds to climbers under 26 to help them go into remote areas and seek out climbs more difficult than they might ordinarily be able to do. We asked him if he's been Bossing any Choss in recent weeks, and he told us: "As far as Bossing the Choss; I have been in the Northwest for the past month trying not to pull any Cascadian size boulders on my belayers!"

How do YOU Boss the Choss?: In the NW, very very gingerly. You have to tell the chickenheads that everything is going to be fine and to just stay cool; no one likes a rock with breakage issues. This doesn’t always work so it helps to be operant-conditioned to hit the deck at the sound of “ROCK!”

2012 Choss Boss Photo Contest Rules
The contest is simple:
1. Look at the weekly photo submission theme. We'll post it to our Facebook Page (Look for “Choss Boss Week 1, Choss Boss Week 2, etc in our photo albums) and on this page (scroll down to check it out). New themes will be posted every Tuesday around noon.
2. Submit a photo that fits in the theme. Submit by emailing your photo to photo.contest@americanalpineclub.org. One Submission per person, per week, please.
3. Submissions will be accepted from the moment the weekly theme is posted until Thursday at noon of the same week.
4. The AAC will post all the week's photo submissions to an album on Facebook on Friday morning. As soon as the album is posted, "Like" your favorite photo. Get your friends to “Like” the AAC and vote too!
5. The next Monday at noon, your time to comment has ended. AAC staff will select the best photo, taking the number of likes into account. By that afternoon, we'll post the winner and contact them via email to get them their prizes!
6. The next day (Tuesday), be sure to look for the next theme and email another photo!
We'll we doing this for eight weeks. On the ninth week, we'll post the winners from the previous eight and the Ultimate Choss Boss from Week 9 will get a huge prize package. Read the full rules here.
Contest Details and Rules
-On Tuesday of the ninth week, we'll take the winners from the previous weeks and post a new album containing only the winning photographs. That album will be open for comment until the following Tuesday, whereupon AAC staff will bestow the title of The Ultimate Choss Boss to the photographer with the most popular image. The Ultimate Choss Boss will also receive a grand prize more awesome than the other prizes (which is hard to do, considering how cool the t-shirts are).
- Keep it clean. AAC has the right to deny submissions.
-Spam is evil. We do not share email addresses. Although entering the contest signs you up for AAC emails, you may unsubscribe at anytime.
-Please note that by entering the contest you release Facebook of all responsibility for the contest. The Choss Boss Photo Contest is not sponsored by, endorsed by, or administered by Facebook in any way.
-The Choss Boss Contest is under the complete control of the American Alpine Club. Any information disclosed is to The Club, not to Facebook. Read the full Facebook commentary on promotions running on Facebook.
