Meet Your Chapter Chair: Sam Masters

I joined the AAC in 2013 when I began to climb and mountaineer in remote areas, both internationally and domestically. My passion for the outdoors began as I continued to work as a Wilderness EMT, a backcountry expedition leader for both adults and youth and as an instructor for Central Rock Gym in Boston, MA. The true passion, however, lies within the community that embodies the climbing and alpine sports. These communities create a sense of ambition, safety and home (away from home) as we continue to challenge, love and respect each other. As a volunteer for the AAC, I want to continue to help bring like-minded people together to realize the potential and strength of our community and impact we can have on the outdoor world. You can find me at the crag, with my husky (Ketu), teaching wilderness medicine, taking photographs and at many of New England’s AAC events.
