Michael Kidder moved to Nashville, Tennessee to attend university but spent more time playing outdoors and never looked back. He discovered his passion for climbing on a summer mountaineering trip, and has carried that into a lifelong pursuit of both pushing himself and inspiring others. He enjoys plugging gear at T-Wall or pulling jugs at the Red, but his true passion is ice and the alpine environment. He takes trips several times a year, grabbing ice in Canada or New England, summer alpine in the Cascades or North Carolina, and otherwise scheming how he can get more time away from his day job without his boss finding out. Michael has a great passion for southeast climbing and fostering experiences at both the everyday crag and the greater ranges. He is, however, most proud of his best belay partners: his supportive wife and two children, aspiring alpinists in their own right.
