Elevate NC - Photo Exhibit: Charlotte Chapter

In partnership with Black Diamond, #Elevate_NC, a photography exhibition showcasing the wealth of classic climbing and adventure available in North Carolina. Join us on Saturday, February 11 at Inner Peaks South end for an exhibit by local Charlotte photographers Bryan Miller and Joe Virtanen, free beer, food, story-telling, outstanding raffle prizes, a silent auction and more! 

Admission is FREE and all donations will benefit the Carolina Climbers Coalition. Please consider supporting the CCC. They work tirelessly to preserve the natural environment, promote safe climbing practices and preserve access to our amazing crags.

4th Annual SAS Climbers Camp

Join your AAC hosts, Linda and Aram Attarian, for the American Alpine Club's Southern Appalachian Section Climbers Camp held annually at the Attarians' home at the foot of Shortoff Mountain. Arrive on Friday evening, pitch your tent in the Attarians' meadow, and join your AAC colleagues for the drink of your choice around the campfire. Rise early on Saturday to enjoy a terrific breakfast and then head out to Shortoff Mountain, Table Rock or Linville Gorge for a day of spring climbing. We'll have dinner and slide shows on Saturday evening and a big country breakfast on Sunday morning. Followed, of course, by another great day of southern Appalachian climbing. As always, plan to include spouses, significant others, special just friends, and climbing partners. Non-members are welcome.

Admission:

$25 for AAC members
$35 for non-members

Rally to the New River Gorge! Join the American Alpine Club and CAMP USA  in Fayetteville, West Virginia on September 16th, 17th, and 18th for the 5th annual Craggin' Classic in the New River Gorge. 

This 3-day, grassroots climbing festival celebrates the climbers, and the climbing, of the Southeast. A weekend awaits, featuring the REEL Rock Film Tour, climbing clinics taught by professional athletes and guides, stewardship and conservation efforts, gear demos, food, music, free beer (21+), games, bonfires, raffles, silent auctions and good times with great people!

The festivities will take place at the AAC's campground with clinics taught at nearby crags in the Gorge.

Wilderness and Remote First Aid Training - Charlotte Chapter

Are you ready to handle a back-country medical emergency? 
The American Alpine Club - Charlotte Chapter is offering a two day Wilderness & Remote First Aid (WRFA) class. Designed for outdoor leaders, enthusiasts and anyone who works or spends time in remote environments, the WRFA course teaches advanced skills to be used in emergencies when help from professional first responders may be far away. This course aligns with OSHA's Best Practices for Workplace First Aid Training Programs.

This 16-hour course covers patient assessment, urgent first aid techniques, patient care, and the evacuation decision process.

WhenTwo Day Course: Saturday 8/20 & Sunday 8/21, 9am - 5pm
Where: Charlotte, NC (participants will be sent location/directions)
Cost: $75 for AAC members, $115 for non-members.
