Sam Nies grew up backpacking and adventuring in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Climbing took off for him in the mid 2000's when he summited Mount Shasta and afterwards went after every other mountain he could find. Climbing of all kinds gives him an excitement for life in the outdoors and a challenge to protect it. He loves working with the AAC to help bring others into the fold of honoring each other and preserving the places we love to climb.

Originally from the east coast, Adam Selby learned to climb and fell in love with the outdoors in western Pennsylvania spending lots of time in the New River Gorge and all over the south. After spending a few college summer breaks in Yosemite he moved to Truckee, CA in 2006 to continue living the dream.  Adam joined the AAC in 2010 and enjoys giving back to the community and climbing areas that have so much to offer! He can regularly be found at a Donner Summit crag, skiing in the amazing Tahoe backcountry or working at the local climbing and ski shop, the Tahoe Sports Hub. Enjoying all forms of climbing from boulders to big walls, long alpine granite routes are the most rewarding and enjoyable. Climbing all over Asia, Greece, Mexico, and most of the US he is grateful to call Tahoe and the Sierra's home.
