Texas Section

The Lone Star State hosts tons of granite crags, limestone walls, and of course, the one and only Hueco Tanks. Whether you’re a boulderer or not, Hueco Tanks is a must for every climber, no matter what discipline you practice. Make sure and check in at the AAC’s Hueco Rock Ranch when you head south!

Meet Your Section Chair:

Adam Mitchell has years of Texas climbing experience and guiding experience with Rock-About Guiding. He really enjoys passing on his enthusiasm and knowledge about rock climbing. Scouts, new climbers, and experienced alike can gain skills for technique and safety through Adam’s patient coaching. Adam’s favorite Texas haunts are Enchanted Rock, Reimer’s Ranch, and the Austin Crags at the Austin Greenbelt. To him it is the people that you share a climb with, not the climb itself that makes the past-time.  He is an American Mountain Guides Association Single Pitch Instructor and a certified Wilderness First Responder. So, rest assured that he is knowledgeable and uses his skills to reduce the risks associated with climbing and the outdoors.
