Despite Minnesota being known for 10,000+ lakes there is an ample amount climbable rock across the state. The new Twin Cities Chapter is amped to connect with local climbers, gyms, clubs, and businesses, as well as continue building and supporting our climbing community. The Twin Cities is central to easy and challenging single pitch crags, which makes it an ideal place for beginners to advanced climbers!

John Swiecichowski is finishing up his B.S. degree in Earth Sciences at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. John is an Air Force Veteran who served as an aircraft mechanic in the windy and freezing state of North Dakota for six years. He is originally from Wisconsin where he had his first climbing experience during the Boy Scouts. Although his first experience was a decade or so ago, his interest in climbing really began when he started college in Minnesota. There he found an amazing climbing community which has now become family. Since then, he has pursued many types of climbing including sport, traditional, ice, and mountaineering. John has summited Kilimanjaro and organizes many trips with the University Climbing Team to crags around the Midwest and to Red Rock Canyon in Nevada. He strives to improve himself and his community with his passion for the outdoors.
