Terms of Use
The library is a knowledge resource for the climbing community. The integrity of the collection requires the good will and commitment of borrowers to return material in a timely manner. Books and videos overdue by 28 days after the due date are assumed lost. The library reserves the right to assess lost material charges if items are not returned due to the limited print runs of many mountaineering books in the collection and other unique features of this library. If we are unable to collect the lost book or video charges for any reason, a member or Library Friend immediately loses library privileges and will also lose his/her membership. Continuous abuse will result in lost privileges._____________________________________________________

Search by keyword, title, author or whatever you’re looking for.
When you find something you want, look at “Availability” to see if it’s on the shelf.
If it says "Items available for reference," that means it does not circulate outside the Library. We have a large reference collection that does not leave the library.
Okay, so you found a book that’s available. Now click "Get It Now!"
That will bring you to another page to confirm your hold. Click "Place hold." *If placing a hold for books needed for a trip, be sure to set an expiration date on the hold so the book doesn't arrive while you're out of town or after your trip. The library ships packages using media mail which takes 6-10 days, so plan ahead when reserving books to be sure you receive them by the time you need them.
You are done now. We will get the request and mail your books to you. Make sure your mailing address is current. If you live in the Denver-metro area and want to pick it up at the library, please let us know ASAP so we don’t mail it to you.

Yes, checkout periods are 35 days with a 14 day grace period to allow for any shipping issues. After the grace period a fine of 10 cents per item each day will begin to accrue. We understand that life happens so if you know a book is going to arrive a reasonable time after the grace period communicate with us and we can waive any accrued fines. To avoid late fees you can renew books that are not on hold by another member through your library profile, or by calling or emailing us.
