Annual Benefit Gala FAQs

  • We are able to offer full refunds for ticket purchases until Sunday, April 14th. After April 14th, we are only able to offer partial refunds of the ticket price minus $200 per person (i.e. you would only receive a $100 refund for a $300 ticket). However, given the uncertain and changing nature of these times, we are able to offer a full refund at any date for those affected by COVID-19. If you have been exposed or are feeling sick, please stay home.

  • The AAC’s Gala will take place on April 27th from 5-10pm at the Hilton LA/Universal City, Sierra Ballroom. The address for the Hilton is 555 Universal Hollywood Drive, Universal City, California, 91608-1001, USA

  • The AAC has a discounted room block at the Hilton from April 25th-28th. Our negotiated rate is $249 per night and available until 04/04/2024 or sold out.

    Guests can also call our In-House Reservations Dept. at 818-623-1434 from 7am-7pm, Monday-Sunday (Please refer to group code ABD when booking).

    Unfortunately there are no airport shuttles to the Hilton.

  • The Hilton seeks to establish a safe and welcoming environment that ensures the widest range of people will enjoy during their visit and is fully ADA accessible.

    ○ Ramps, elevators and courtesy wheelchairs are available. Please see an usher for assistance.

    The hotel has different options available for handicap accessible rooms. Please contact in house reservations at [email protected] for details and availability.

    The dinner programming on Saturday (4/27) will have ASL interpreters present.

  • Food: The wonderful folks from the Hilton will be catering the receptions with Hors D'oeuvres. Each Gala table will also have a variety of breads and a salad until our main Beef, Chicken or Vegetarian entrees arrive. Finish the night right with a dessert!

    Beverages: Water & Coffee—all you need to survive a night like this.

    Adult beverages: Yes please! During the Gala there will be an open bar.

  • Although there will be no live-stream this year, we plan on recording the gala in full so people can watch the magic of the night from their own home after.

    Please pre-register to be sent a recording after the gala early.

  • A separate ticket must be purchased. Those tickets are $30 and are available for purchase by clicking here.

  • This year, we are shaking things up a bit; we want to enjoy the nice weather in LA with you all. Let the American Alpine Club LA Chapter show you the best climbing in the heart of the city! We will have top ropes and crash pads available for our guests to climb at Stoney Point. There will also be a dedicated guest shuttle from the hotel to the crag and back at the end of the day (leaves the hotel at 8:30am and leaves the crag at 2:30 pm).

  • A separate ticket must be purchased. The climbing is limited to 30, so don’t wait to get your ticket by clicking here.

  • Those who have purchased a Patron Ticket or VIP Table (with 4 select guests) to our Gala or by invitation.

  • Join the American Alpine Club on Friday, April 26th at 6PM at a local gym for a night of socializing and sending! Come enjoy climbing games, a bouldering comp, hanging with the pros, chatting with community organizations, and more.

  • Yes BUT it is a $25 addition you must purchase online with your Gala ticket. The bus will drop guests off at the event site around 6pm, leaving the hotel at 5:30pm. The same will happen in reverse from the event site back to the hotel starting at 8:30pm and returning you to the hotel by 9pm.

  • You can view the silent auction by clicking here.

    Click “Register to Participate” if it’s your first time visiting the auction site or “Login” if you are returning.

    If registering, you will get a text with a link to the auction site after you have registered.
