The Henry S. Hall Jr. American Alpine Club Library, located at AAC headquarters in Golden, Colorado, houses one of the world’s finest collections of mountain-related artifacts, archives, rare books, maps, and media. A climbing bibliophile’s dream, the library contains more than 50,000 books and all the information you could ever want on mountain history, mountain culture, climbing routes, and more. Our staff and volunteers are happy to assist with research and trip planning, and members may check out materials in person or by mail.
Beginning the week of July 14th, the Library will be reducing open hours indefinitely. We are doing this so that we can focus on reorganizing, processing backlogged archives, books and artifacts collections. We hope to catalog these collections and make them more accessible to members and the public. The open hours will be Wednesdays 10am-7pm and Saturdays Noon-5pm, and by appointment.
