Our Project List

Here is our current project list for Work Weekend 2022:

  • Spread wood chips in high traffic areas (e.g. trails, campsites, common areas) to minimize the impact on the soil and our camping landscapes

  • Split and stack firewood for camper use

  • Rebuild tent platforms at select campsites to create flat, elevated surfaces for camping

  • Clear debris from streams and improve drainage systems to prevent water damage to camping areas

  • Sand and stain picnic tables to preserve their lifetime use

FAQ’s

“What’s the deal with camping? Is it free?”

Free camping is provided to all volunteers on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights in the communal camping area. The communal camping area is the open chipped area in between the pavilion and the bathhouse. You may set up your tent or hammock anywhere in this space, and parking is provided along the left side of the road only. Volunteers may choose to upgrade their camping arrangements to a private tent site or vehicle site at a discounted rate via our online reservation system.* Please contact Kristi at [email protected] to arrange.

*Space permitting.

“Are meals provided?”

All volunteers will receive morning coffee, daily lunch, and dinner Saturday night. Participants are responsible for providing their breakfast and snacks to supplement. Please be sure to bring your cup, plate, bowl, and eating utensils for all provided meals. If you have any dietary restrictions that we should be aware of please note those on your Volunteer Registration Form.

“Do I need to bring any of my tools?”

No. All tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided. If you prefer to use your tools or PPE, feel free to bring them.

“What’s the deal with the camping voucher? How does this work?”

Volunteers who volunteer a minimum of 6 hours or one full work day, will receive a voucher for 2 FREE NIGHTS at any Private Tent Site for a future stay. Vouchers are non-transferable and must be redeemed within the 2022 season.

“I don’t have much experience doing these tasks or manual labor, can I still help?”

Yes! Experience is preferred but it is not required. There is always a way for everyone to contribute, regardless of their experience or skill level.

“I signed up, but I’m no longer able to make it! What should I do?”

That’s okay, we understand that life happens. Please notify us via email: [email protected], as soon as possible so that we can open up your volunteer spot to someone else.

Sponsors

Of course none of this would be possible without the help of volunteers, but we want to give special thanks and a huge shout out to those who have supported us in the execution of this event.
